Veritas Tax Services (VTS) offers a personalized tax preparation and filing experience. We get to know you and your specific tax needs, and we let you know who we are. We are a family, and our clients are friends of the family.
Why is that important? Because trust matters. When I interview a sitter for childcare, my first question is, "would you have your taxes done at a grocery store kiosk?" That's a joke. If I get a sitter, I probably already prepare that person's taxes. The point is, both are trust relationships.
Your financial information is important, and you need to be able to trust the people you give it to. But just as much, you need to be able to trust the information they give you. That's the kind of trust we have with our clients.
My father often paraphrased R.W. Emerson when he said, "Make a hard job look easy, and they'll beat a path to your door." If a company needs dreadlocked sign dancers at the intersection, that means no one is beating a path to their door. And if you're reading this, you already know we didn't advertise to get you here.
Just over 90% of our clients were referred to us by other VTS clients. Not only do we make their lives easier by staying up to date on all tax laws that apply to them, but we also look for ways to help them reduce their future tax liabilities. The sign-dancing freedom gargoyles won't provide that service, and here are the two reasons why. First, they simply do not have the skillset. They weren't trained to do that. Second, it just isn't worth their time because they won't see you next year anyway.
Be Prepared
Fill out our Tax Information Package (TIP), save it, and send us a copy. You'll find the TIP for download here. We need this information along with your official tax documents before we can start preparing your personal tax filing for any year. What We Expect
Mutual respect, in a nutshell. We all have beliefs and opinions. For our part, we will assume you are a kind, sensible, and intelligent human being. Whatever your views on current affairs, we don't think you hate your grandma, want to hurt children, or seek global anarchy. We expect the same courtesy from our clients.
Back Taxes and Consulting
We want to help you do what you do better. That's why we set aside our off-season hours for amending old tax returns and for Business Consulting, which includes setting up LLCs, S-Corps, C-Corps and Non-Profits. Jeremy's consulting hour is $125 in the off season. $250 before the personal tax deadline (normally April 15th).
